Word count: 11,131
Broke 10k yesterday with about 1,100 words. Today I added another 1,000 to finish chapter 6 and start in on chapter 7. I was hoping to finish 7 today, but an idea for a different project hijacked my brain, and I was forced (forced!) to work on developing that idea all afternoon. Woe. It feels like time well-spent, though, and there’s definitely something there. Perhaps something for a later dare. In the mean time, tomorrow will be back at it on Feather Spell.
To be honest, I am perfectly content with getting 1,000 words a day, even if that won’t see me through to the end of the book by January 31st. Of course, I do want to finish this month, so I will continue to strive for it. But progress is progress, and progress is good.
